ISO
9001:2000 is an internationally recognized Standard. It is a document,
which defines the elements of organization required by a company to
operate & maintain a Quality Management System, i.e. Management
Responsibility, Resource Management, Product Realization, Measurement,
Analysis & Improvement.
For the purpose of Accreditation a company must document its practices
in a Quality Manual, defining its Operating Procedures/Processes,
Objectives and Policy for achieving them, these documents are assessed
to ensure they fulfil the criteria of the standard and satisfactorily
envelop all elements of the companies operations. When the documentation
is found satisfactory, the company is then audited to ensure they
are complying with all elements of their documentation, and that
their System is successfully managing all aspects of their business. On
satisfactory conclusion of this process a company is Certificated,
Accredited with operating to a system which is compliant to the essence
of the ISO 9001:2000 Standard.
Companies
are reassessed annually to ensure they are maintaining their system
in compliance with the Standard.
